Ministry of Transportation — vehicle counts
Official MOTI Traffic Data Program (not municipal counts). Stations and AADT segments are in the first zip. TRADAS annual, 2024–2025 hourly, and short-count (48-hour) tapes are the actual counter extracts. City counts (Vancouver, Surrey, Victoria) are a separate zip — MOTI does not publish those.

City traffic counts
Vancouver, Victoria, and Surrey publish their own counts on municipal streets. This is not MOTI. Victoria includes 24-hour volumes through 2026. Vancouver lists 659 intersection count sites (the turning sheets still live in VanMap). Surrey currently publishes loop locations; the old 15-minute count API is gone from the catalogue.

How to verify the files
Nobody can honestly stamp “malware-free” on a download. What we can do is be specific about the source and the bytes. These zips are ICBC / DataBC open-data extracts — tables, not programs. Inside: CSV, gzipped CSV, Markdown, HTML, PDF, and RoadSafetyBC XLSX spreadsheets. No executables, scripts, or installers.
- Official sources: ICBC Tableau Public and the B.C. Data Catalogue.
- Each card shows a SHA-256 of that zip. If the hash matches, the file was not swapped in transit.
- Unzip and open the CSV in a text editor or pandas — you should see column names like DATE_OF_LOSS_YEAR, not a program.
